first, you need to start by removing the hinge pins.to do this we need a nail and hammer. you need to open the door wide to give good access to the hinges, put a nail on the bottom of the hinge, and hit with a hammer
this makes the pin pop up out of the hinge, and you can pull it out the rest of the way with your fingers.
if you chose to do this, be aware that painting a door can take several days due to the several coats required and the drying time between each application.

for cleaning use some degreasing cleaner and rag. clean the whole area of the steel door and make sure that you remove all dirt, dust, and anything else that is stuck on the door.
when it is finished, wipe the door down with a towel and leave it to dry. don’t do the next step until it is completely moisturized.
step 3. remove any fittings from the door
take any screwdriver and remove any fittings like the handle or doorknob, the knocker, or anything else.
step 4. cover any areas you don’t want to paint
if there is any section you don’t need to paint, cover them over using painter’s tape and old newspaper. you can also do this to cover any items you can’t remove from the door.
step 5. sand the door
when the steel door is dry, you should give the whole surface a light sanding. this will help the new paint adhere more effectively and remove the older paint that is stuck into it.
when you finished, make sure the door is completely clear of all the dust-you may even prefer to wipe it down with a damp towel.
step 6. apply the primer
if you want the paint wants to last. you should apply primer before putting the main coat of paint with the help of a roller and brush. when you are finished with primer leave it to dry before adding a second coat.
step 7. paint the door
the second coat of the primer is dry, you can do painting the door with the main coat. you can use a roller or spray can.
leave the paint dry completely before applying the second coat.
step 8. put the door back in place
when the door is painted on both sides of the door you have to leave it to dry, you can now remove the painter’s tape and newspaper. when this is done, reattach the fittings like the doorknob or knocker
