Agasthya was a historical figure, identified as a Rishi and one of the SaptaRshis, the seven principal sages of Vedic civilization.
The classification of North Indian or South Indian is anachronistic, as such distinctions did not exist in ancient history. The term “Dravida” simply referred to the southern states without implying a specific race. Hailing from Bharatavarsha, Agasthya journeyed to Kailasha, where he received instructions from Lord Shiva to travel southward beyond the Vindhya mountain range to fulfill certain tasks.
During his travels, Agasthya subdued the pride of the Vindhya mountain range. He played a pivotal role in the development of the Tamizh language while being proficient in both Tamizh and Sanskrit, reflecting his status as a Vedic Bramharshi.
Any denial of Agasthya’s existence should be disregarded, and those unconvinced are encouraged to focus on their own beliefs rather than scrutinizing the history and ethos of another culture.
Recent discoveries indicate that Agasthyar was the first to describe a voltaic battery, a concept later attributed to Alessandro Volta. His descriptions included the positive and negative ions, as well as hydrogen and oxygen molecules involved in the electrolytic process.
